Since 1947, the Corvallis Rural Fire District has served the community of Corvallis, MT. Corvallis is a bedroom community in southwestern Montana, a 100-square mile area home to around 8000 residents.
CRFD currently has a volunteer base of 46 members who provide medical and fire assistance all over the community.
The department has been led for the last 12 years by chief Jim Knapp. In that time the district has built 2 new fire stations, a new training house, and hosted the 2013 State Training Symposium for volunteer firefighters.
CRFD prides itself on being an organization that connects with the community, engaging in many community outreach projects and fostering and encouraging new members from all walks of life.
